Design Philosophy

I believe that Design is an international language. People can catch the point without having artistic background. I love drawing and painting when I was five years old. When I grew up, I like to create something new especially in 3-dimentional space and decorate my own room. I keep working on painting and designing since they are my favorite things in the world and I feel that design can express myself and release pressure.

To me, design is the technique to change and improve the world and to create a better future. The thing that inspire me to major in interior design is that I like to create useful stuffs and think much about the functions of a space. I believe becoming a interior designer, I will be given the ability to design the interior of spaces as well as small handy supplies. My goal is to become a professional interior designer who makes people live in a more comfortable and convenient environment. Also, I would like to design the interiors for my mom and it counts as part of my dreamed future.

Victorian's Textile Pattern

Victorian's Textile Pattern

The idea generator of the swatch is inspired by the Victorian period. The elegant and continuous curve, sophisticated column and ceiling decoration and luminous lighting found in typical Victorian architecture and its interior indicate essential components in Victorian period which are used to guide the swatch. In addition, romantic roses and lovely angel are commonly seen in the Victorian period. Those elements are put together to represent the Victorian. There are asymmetrical balances create by two girls image on the focal point and leaves image at every corner. There is also a symmetrical balance creates by the continuous lace frame. The analogous colors are used to create a harmony and the complementary are seen between the corner and the borders to create a contrast and grab your attention.

To my astonishment, the repetition of my swatch create such a harmonious textile pattern. I really love the circle formed by corners of  my initial swatch. In fact, that's the effect I did not make it on purpose. I just wanted to create a frame around my initial swatch and it end up forming such a great pattern. In addition, the circular pattern really bring eyes in and catch attention.
